In order that women may feel empowered in helping to provide for their families, Father Marneni has made it possible for 16 women to receive sewing machines purchased with a generous donation to cover the cost of the machines. 

 

Now the women can sew, not only for their families, but also for those who bring them fabric and request that something be made for them. These machines help women improve the living conditions of their own families. 

 

As of now the women sew alone, not as a group. 

But someday it may develop into a ‘mini-industry’.
