Each ministry listed below came into existence because of a need that was exhibited by the people. All of the ministries address a very elemental need – food, water, clothing.
They are a direct response to the gospel mandate found in Matthew 25:35 – “I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink” and I was “lacking clothes and you clothed me”. The gospel further says “in so far as you did this to one of the least of my brothers, you did it to me”.
The great saint of India, St. Teresa of Calcutta, often said that in caring for the poor you are caring for Jesus. It is in that spirit that these ministries are carried out.
It is in the words of the gospel and the spirit of St. Teresa of Calcutta that we carry out these ministries.
This is our invitation to join us in our work.
Not all of us can do great things
but we can do small things with great love.
Mother Teresa
Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return, but because of who you are.
